Rabbi Bar-Lev and Rabbi Herzog teach a number of classes throughout the week. Rabbi Bar-Lev teaches a monthly Lunch and Learn program sponsored by the Women of Beth Shalom, where the group learns about some topic relating to Jewish spirituality, ethics, or current events. Check the Temple calendar for the next events!
Women of Beth Shalom
hold Lunch-n-Learn with the Rabbi every month. Our Rabbis lead this group in the exploration of topics like the Reform Movement's stance on current issues and in-depth looks at the holidays. For dates, times, and locations, contact the TBS office.
There are a number of book discussion groups that meet formally and informally throughout the program year at Temple and in other locations. If you’re interested in joining one, contact
and he will be happy to make the connection.
Our rabbis offer evening courses in short 4-6 week blocks in the Fall and in the Spring. Past courses offered have been about Jewish responses to modern issues, Jewish Medical Ethics, learning about the Erev Shabbat (Friday night) service, and more. Check the

Lifelong Learning at TBS
At Temple Beth Shalom we acknowledge that Jewish learning doesn’t end after Confirmation in High School! We aspire to be a congregation of lifelong learners, engaging in and grappling with everything from ancient texts to Jewish ethics, to the Jewish values behind parenting and much more. There’s something for everyone at TBS!
On Sunday mornings we offer a number of classes for interested adults. Rabbi Leigh Ann Kopans teaches a class called “Sunday School for Adults.” This hour-long class is discussion based, and asks students, “How do we live our lives through a Jewish lens?” The class studies classical Jewish ethics as well as modern Jewish thinkers. They do it in the most fun way possible! Guaranteed to make you smile! Join them for some coffee, bagels, and discussion.
The three Reform Temples in Columbus sponsor an Introduction to Judaism course that begins anew every September. Locations alternate among the three buildings.
